Lighting:

denotation: in the first opening scene  the lighting us dark this is because in the laboratory  the lights are off.
connotation: The lights off in the lab could mean that there has been an experiment that has gone wrong and the flickering lights  help add to this

Analysis: the writer wants to make the audience fell a sense of  mystery with the flickering lights adding to that making them feel like a experiment has gone wrong.


Setting:

denotation: the setting is a lab .

connotation:  the setting is   is a lab which its dark  and the scientist running could make us  believe he was the cause  of the experiment going wrong  an for the  facility.
analysis: the audience want us to feel bad for the scientist.

costume:

denotation: there was a man wearing a lab coat.

connotation: there  was a man wearing  a lab coat which was broken and the blood on him could show he was attacked.




analysis: the audience should be worried for the scientists
